Believe in Me: Donovan moves to a tiny Oklahoma town in’64 to take a teaching job, although when he arrives he learns he’s been assigned to coach the girls basketball team. What’s more, the girls have no self respect and little help from the school. Genuine heartland tale ascends above its recognizable underdog recipe. Donovan and Mathis as his supportive spouse are first rate. Cast includes Jeffrey Donovan, Samantha Mathis, Bruce Dem, Bob Gunton, Heather Matarazzo, Alicia Lagano, and Chris Ellis. Outbreak: deadly virus has hit Cedar Creek, California. Highly transferable, in a short time the virus is spreading fast. The other problem, once infected you have less than 24 hours to live. The virus must be contained, so people are sequestered if they are near the outbreak areas.

Madagascar: A fun animated family comedy. When Marty the zebra decides he wants to see the world from outside the zoo, the penguins help him escape. Marty is gone, his friend also breaks out to find him and bring him home. Once out, they are captured by well meaning humans and shipped to Africa, to be returned to the wild. They miss Africa, and wind up on the magical island of Madagascar.

Clue: Stupid joke whodunit based on the trendy board game of the same name with all the recognizable characters Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Miss Red, et al. assembled for a murderous day in a Victorian mansion. Everyone tries extremely hard bet there is nothing they can do to save this weak film. Cast includes Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Ponder, and Howard Hesseman. (87 minutes,’85)

Seizure: Rock’s directorial debut is trendy although incoherent shocker in which novelist Frid, his family and buddies are made to play games of death by a trio of wicked weirdos who may or may not be his bad dreams coming to life. Cast includes Jonathan Frid, Martine Beswick, Christina Pickles, Joe Sirola, Herve Villechaize, Mary Woronov, and Troy Donahue. (93 minutes,’74)

Cry of The Penguins: Will a womanizing youthful biologist find real cheerfulness and redemption amid an Antarctic colony of penguins? Do you care? Famed documentary film maker Amy Dorff shot the intriguing however atrocious scenes of life and mortality amid a penguin colony.
